So it's your first meeting...

Welcome! Here's what you can expect when you attend our meetings:

1. Voices off! Don't stress though, one of the officers will interpret the meeting.
2. Full ASL immersion
3. Partner work. Try to bring a friend who's willing to learn ASL or pair up with someone to practice during the lesson. After each Beginners Meeting, we have an ASL Chat where we encourage you to chat with others and use what you learned!

How to prepare for your first meeting:

1. Try to learn to alphabet. We linked a great video below to get you started.

2. Bring paper and pen, or use a notes app on your phone! Because our club is a voices off environment, having these tools is helpful for facilitating successful communication.

3. Have a willingness to learn. Let's make this a fun environment for everyone.

4. Participate as much as you can! It's the best way to learn a language.

5. Think about why you are interested in ASL, or what made you come to this meeting.
